Elkton Takes Wild Card: The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Fightin Whites Ballpark as the Wild Card stretched to the final game.

It was the Elkton Generals feeling the thrill of victory, with a 6-2 win over the Chandlers Firebirds, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Divisional Series.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Chandlers manager T.J. Bond. "Congratulations to Elkton, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 2-1 series win was first baseman Isiah Washington, who was named MVP. He hit .583 with a .643 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card finishes.
