Doubledays on to League Championship Series: A classic and dramatic Wild Card Series has wrapped up, with the Auburn Doubledays outlasting the Staten Island Pizza Rats to advance to the League Championship Series.
Auburn won the final game by a score of 5-2 and took the series 3-2.
"We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Auburn third baseman Dominic Singh, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.
Singh hit .333 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Auburn Doubledays will play against the Aberdeen Ironbirds in the next round. Aberdeen won their series against the Jamestown Jammers 3 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
