Devon Matthews Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year: The doctors have spoken and Devon Matthews of the Mobile Minotaurs didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Matthews sustained his season-ending injury during the Tulsa Twisters game yesterday at Tulsa Grounds. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Mobile medical staff reported Matthews had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11 months.

This year Matthews is 3-and-0 with no saves and a 7.98 ERA. He has given up 18 hits in 14.2 innings with 11 strikeouts.
