Demons End Ramirez's Streak: Death Valley right fielder Ruben Ramirez came into today's game against the Detroit Demons on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Demons did their jobs well, beating the Death Valley Scorpions 2-0 and holding Ramirez hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 34-year-old right fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What Ruben did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Scorpions manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

Ramirez's current batting average stands at .335 and he has chalked up 3 home runs and 19 RBIs.
