Death Valley's Franco Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits: It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Wonder Franco today. Franco went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Sarasota pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Danny DiVidome, he had a 5-for-6 line and a day he will long remember. And the Death Valley Scorpions had a 26-0 victory over the Supernovas.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
Wonder Franco singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Spruce Butter in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Franco has hit at a .319 clip with 121 hits, 11 home runs, 55 RBIs and 90 runs scored.
