Death Valley Punchless in 9-0 Loss to Hounds: All went well for Elijah Carlson of the Yonkers Hounds as he pitched his team to a 9-0 shutout victory over the Death Valley Scorpions, limiting them to 2 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Carlson on the day.

"Elijah's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Hounds manager J.P. Torrez. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."

In the contest, the Yonkers right-hander rang up 8 and surrendered no walks.

"He didn't give us any second chances," said Scorpions manager Mauricio Avendano. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
