Cortés Swats 3 Homers: Fort Knox center fielder Pedro Cortés led the Centennial to a 14-2 triumph over the Ogallala Octopi, crushing three home runs.

"He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Fort Knox skipper Justin Saginov.

Indeed, Cortés put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 6 RBIs.

"I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Cortés said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em."

Pedro Cortés struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Daniel Shields in the 2nd, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Quan Situ in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Lorenzo Vargas in the 7th and walked in the 9th.

On the season, Cortés is batting .255 with 5 home runs and 8 RBIs. He has played in 11 games.
