Cheetahs Advance to Round 2: Tony Huffman said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Round 1 until he was shown his own statistics.

The Mobile Christian HS Cheetahs first baseman put up a .321 average with 3 home runs, 7 RBI and 5 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Cheetahs advancing to the Round 2, with a 4-2 series win over the Seton Hall Prep Pirates.

"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."

The series victory had become official with a 8-4 triumph at Mobile Ballpark. Even if Huffman is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.

"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.

The Mobile Christian HS Cheetahs will play against the Sarasota HS Sailors in the next round. Sarasota HS won their series against the Palm Beach Gardens HS Gators 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
