Cedric McGillis Out 5-6 Months: The New York Mets and their fans were rocked today by the news that star reliever Cedric McGillis would miss the rest of the season due to injury. McGillis was hurt in a recent game against the Atlanta Braves while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn rotator cuff. His doctors think that McGillis will miss about 5-6 months.

For the season McGillis has made 36 relief appearances, recorded 2 saves and compiled a 2-5 won-lost mark and a 4.50 ERA. In pitching 54 innings, he has totaled 59 strikeouts and 13 walks.
