Carlson Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Dairymen: It was a good day for the St. Louis Explorers and an exceptional one for Norm Carlson. The 32-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Explorers beat the Milwaukee Dairymen 9-6 at Castle Point Field.

"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Carlson said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."

For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 7 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.

Norm Carlson hit a three-run home run off Dave Church in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Dave Church in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Carlson in the 4th and struck out in the 6th.

During the current season Carlson is batting at a .255 clip with 9 home runs and 31 RBIs. He has played in 59 games and scored 30 times.
