Calhoun, Placeholder Suspended for Fracas: Yesterday at Phoenix AZ minor league park John Calhoun and Triple A Placeholder got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Phoenix Roadrunners and Honolulu Kings. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.

Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Calhoun will have to sit out 4 while Placeholder would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.

For the season Calhoun is currently batting .233 with 16 home runs and 44 RBIs. In 107 games he has reached base at a .310 rate and scored 55 runs to date.

This year Placeholder has compiled a 1-3 record with a 5.85 ERA in 6 starts.
