Boomers Not Competitive in 6-0 Loss to Gateway: Today was Edwin Castaneda's turn in the rotation for the Gateway Grizzlies and he made the most of it, shutting out the Schaumburg Boomers on 7 hits.

The 26-year-old right-hander led the Grizzlies to an easy 6-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 6 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Schaumburg manager John Bridges said. "Castaneda certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."

In 14 starts this year Castaneda has posted 5 wins while suffering 4 losses. He has pitched 88 innings, allowed 111 hits, struck out 71 and has a 6.03 ERA.
