Blues Lose Petersen for Season: The doctors have spoken and William Petersen of the Barton Springs Blues didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Petersen sustained his season-ending injury during the Toledo Saboteurs game yesterday at Blues Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Barton Springs medical staff reported Petersen had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.

In 12 starts this year Petersen has recorded a 3-5 record and a 5.14 ERA.
