Bennigsen Belts 3 HRs: It was a good day for the Indianapolis Apex and an exceptional one for Max Bennigsen. The 29-year-old center fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Apex beat the Maui Makos 10-9 at The Brickyard.

"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Bennigsen said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."

For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 8 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.

Max Bennigsen grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Johnny Patey in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Deez Huevos in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Xenophon Economides in the 8th.

Thus far this year Bennigsen is hitting .297 with 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
