Bay of Quinte Wins it All: It's party time in Bay of Quinte. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling.
The Bay of Quinte Herons have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2043 AAA Championship today. They defeated the London Eclipse 5-4 at Edgewater Park to officially wrap up the series 3-2.
Asked how it feels to be champion, catcher Paco Bello was to the point.
"It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions."
The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Bay of Quinte finished the regular season 84-49 and claimed first place in the Division 1.
