Bad Boy Brawlers Suspended 4 Games: Zi-yang Pi of the MSL Montana Pandas was not happy with Alonso Vargas, and his frustration showed when he went after the MSL New Orleans player during yesterday's game at MSL Montana Ballpark. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Pi and Vargas were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game.
Both players were suspended 4 games by the league office as a result of their tussle.
"It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Pi commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings."
So far this season Pi has hit .276 with no home runs, 1 RBIs and scored 3 times.
Vargas has a 0-1 season record so far. In 0 starts, he has fanned 14 batters in 16 innings with a 3.38 ERA.
