Avalanche Hernandez Blanks Kings: It wasn't easy but Ricky Hernandez made it look that way.
Hernandez silenced the Kansas City Kings, 5-0, in a Philadelphia Avalanche triumph at Avalanche Ballpark today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Hernandez said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up no walks and 3 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
To date this year, Hernandez shows a 4-4 record, 9 starts, 89.1 innings, 102 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA.
