Armadillos End Eshleman's Streak: Brian Eshleman's 26-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today as the State College Swift Steeds suffered a 3-2 setback against the Amarillo Armadillos.
Eshleman went without a hit in 4 trips to the plate. He was visibly upset during a postgame press conference, but it appeared that the streak had little to do with it.
"The hitting streak was one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it tonight," he said. "On the other hand, I am going to lose sleep about dropping this game today."
This year Eshleman is batting .351 with 40 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 18 times and has batted in 30 runs.
