Apfelski Scorches Olympians for 3 HR: Warsaw Wyverns bombardier Iwo Apfelski set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club took a 29-14 win over the Athens Olympians today.

"I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Apfelski told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it."

For the game, the Warsaw first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 5 runs.

Iwo Apfelski hit a solo-shot off Corneliu Dragomir in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Doug Cudlip in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.

This year Apfelski is batting .271 with 15 home runs and 35 RBIs.
