Ahrens Stops Washington Cold, 2-0: In a remarkable performance, Cincinnati Packers starter Fred Ahrens beat the Washington Rough Riders 2-0 in an impressive 7-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Packers hurler finished with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
