ABL Royal Ricketts Award Goes to Favela: It was a glorious year for Diego Favela of the Chicago Hawks.

He finished the season with 17 victories and only 11 losses, with an impressive 2.93 ERA. The talented Hawks pitcher started 35 games and struck out 191 batters in 282.2 innings and won the American Baseball League Royal Ricketts Award.

"It means a lot," Favela said. "I hadn't really had a chance to sit down and think about it yet. It feels good right now. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure later on tonight when I have a chance to sit down with my family and think about it, I'll have some words for it. But right now, I'm just happy that it happened this year."

Jim Meier of the Los Angeles Pobladores finished second in voting, while Eduardo Rodriguez of the San Francisco Seagulls finished third.
