6-Hit Barrage by MacDonald: The Detroit Dynamos stopped the New York Gothams by a score of 4-3 at Thompson Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Aart MacDonald. The 31-year-old had a career day, collecting 6 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," MacDonald said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

MacDonald did just that in his 7 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Gothams.

"Not much that I can say," offered New York manager Ed Ziehl. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Aart MacDonald singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Alex Laramie in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th and singled in the 14th.

In the current season, MacDonald has put up a .248 batting average with 56 hits, 5 home runs, 35 runs batted in and scored 28 runs.
