Message:
5-for-5 Day for Colón: It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Willie Colón today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at The Island and paced the Aviators to a 13-1 win over the Maui Makos.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Outer Banks right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Willie Colón singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Michael Knight-Rider in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Cooper Casey in the 8th.

This season Colón is swinging the bat at a .370 rate with 68 hits in 184 at-bats. To date he has hit 13 home runs, scored 46 runs and driven in 48.
