5-Hit Game for Rye: Beef Rye was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at The Mound, the Florida shortstop blistered the State College Swift Steeds for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 8-7 victory.
"Rye was too tough to get out today," Swift Steeds skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
Beef Rye singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Legalize Tampering in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 9th and flied out in the 11th.
