2000th Hit for Rodriguez: By going 1-for-4 in the New York 4-3 win over Arizona, Antonio Rodriguez reached the 2000-hit mark. The Chase Field fans, friend and foe, burst into applause and Rodriguez's teammates hugged and congratulated him on his achievement.
"The guys began the countdown weeks ago," said the newest member of the 2000 Club. "I don't know who was more excited -- them or me."
Career-to-date Rodriguez has rung up a .278 average, played in 1904 games and collected 368 doubles, 31 triples and 552 home runs.
