Salem Sweeps into the Round 2: After their 11-7 win today at Wanderers Ballpark over the Walla Walla Wanderers, the Salem Senators will advance to the Round 2. Salem won the series by a 3-0 margin.
Leading the way for the Senators was first baseman Tim Lucas, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP.
"I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus."
The Salem Senators will play against the Hemet Flindseyes in the next round. Hemet won their series against the Folsom Blues 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
