Salazar Fashions No-Hitter Against Emperors: Is it better to be lucky or good?
After leading the Daejeon Monks to victory, 1-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Shanghai Emperors, Manuel Salazar didn't have the answer.
"I don't know," Salazar said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both."
On his big day at Glasgow Ballpark, Salazar fanned 8 and had 1 walk. And it seemed that when the Emperors managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender.
"That's how you get a no-hitter," Salazar said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck."
In 14 starts this year Salazar has recorded a 4-7 record and a 3.12 ERA.
