van Bennekom Booms 3 out of the Park: The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Tristan van Bennekom did today at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 13-1.

"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," van Bennekom said. "Good things happen, when that happens."

The Texas A&M Aggies second baseman blistered the Indiana State Sycamores for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times.

"It ain't like we weren't trying," Indiana State manager Tom Henderson said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."

Tristan van Bennekom hit a three-run home run off Guillermo Hurtado in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Zumaya in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ramón Vargas in the 8th.

This season van Bennekom is hitting .254 with 101 hits, 15 home runs, 64 RBIs, scored 76 runs and played in 109 games.
