Zambrano Tames Knights, 12-0: The Charlotte Knights were almost helpless today in their 12-0 loss to the Toledo Mud Hens and hurler Jesus Zambrano. Zambrano kept the Knights confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Zambrano," Charlotte manager Luis M. Martinez said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 25-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 14 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Zambrano said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
