Williams Goes on Rampage Against Mets: Tim Williams was at the head of a Elizabethton hit parade today at Hunter Wright Stadium. The first baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 6 hits, sparking the Twins to a 22-14 victory over the Kingsport Mets.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Williams told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Mets skipper Mike Kinkade said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Tim Williams doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Rúbio in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

This season Williams is batting .446 with 3 home runs.
