Wildwood Sweeps into the Round 2: Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Pacifiic League Round 1. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Wildwood Waves swept aside the Puerto Vallarta Freedom to advance to the Round 2, winning the final game by a 5-3 score at Swamp Dragons Stadium.
The series MVP was third baseman Nick Knight, who hit .364 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Wildwood Waves don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Hell HellFire - Lake Champlain Monsters series. Hell leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
