In an unforgettable performance, the 19-year-old Westcott fanned 15 Trash Pandas and sparked the Beaumont Crossbeaus to a 7-1 victory over Watford City. He left Trash Pandas hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Beaumont manager Steve Ferguson. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 7.1 innings, Westcott allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Westcott said with a smile.
In 21 starts this season Westcott has compiled a 10-2 record and a 2.45 ERA.
