Urquidy Wins Award for AL Dominance: When Jose Urquidy jogged in from the bullpen this season, opposing teams knew they were going to have a tough time putting up runs.

The Houston Astros starting pitcher turned in a dominant campaign and has been named the American League Reliever of the Year winner for 2023.

His award-winning season saw the bullpen ace get 52 saves in 70 relief appearances, 102 strikeouts in 74 innings and only 13 walks. He had a record of 6 wins and 2 losses to go with his 1.46 ERA.

"I hope I can pitch like this every year," he said.

DL Hall of the Baltimore Orioles finished second in voting, while Danny Villa of the Boston Red Sox finished third.
