USASA Player of the Week Named: 26-year-old Martín Garduque made a few La Dolorita headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USA Secondary Affiliation officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.

He cracked 8 hits in 16 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Garduque collected 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs.

This year Garduque is batting .208 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs. In 23 games he has scored 8 times.
