Turner Rips HR Number 50: It was a great day for Evan Turner, but not a good one for his Stoneman Douglas HS Eagles. The 17-year-old left fielder reached a personal milestone with his 50th career homer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Northwestern HS Titans, who came away with a 8-7 victory. Turner finished the day with 1 hit, 1 run batted in and 1 run scored.
"Well, I've conceded the fact that you can't will yourself to hit a home run," he said. "I tried hard for the last few days. It was getting to be embarrassing with the crowd standing up every time I came to the plate."
In his all-time stats Turner is hitting .363 with 206 hits, 50 home runs, 146 runs scored and 139 RBIs.
