Trade: Green for Adams: A trade was announced today at a press conference in Chicago. Not satisfied with their current roster, the Chicago Cubs general manager shook things up by acquiring 28-year old RHP Don Adams and 21-year old minor league 2B Daniel Franklin from the Seattle Mariners for 30-year old RHP Tyler Green.

"We're a better team now," Cubs general manager Justin Jabs said. "We've added several pieces to the puzzle."

Chicago will retain a portion of Green's remaining contract.

To date in the season, Green is 0-2 with 19 relief appearances and 2 saves. He has held opposing batters to a .267 average, pitched 15.2 innings, struck out 19 and walked 9 while recording a 5.17 ERA.

Season-to-date Adams has 2 saves in 37 relief appearances with a 1-3 record and 5.97 ERA.
