Toronto Shuts Out Houston Behind Scott, 2-0: It wasn't easy but the Toronto Hurons made it look that way.
Starter Joe Scott shut out the Houston Drillers despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Toronto Hurons cruised to victory, 2-0. Scott allowed only 7 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
To date Scott is 5-1 in 8 starts with a 1.40 ERA and has 26 strikeouts in 58 innings.
