Tigers Ch'ae Stops Tropics: Before the game, Jung-hyun Ch'ae said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at John Lee Pettimore Field, the Tigers pitcher whitewashed the Tiefengrund Tropics 7-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Ch'ae said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Dutton starter held Tiefengrund scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 2 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Tropics manager Derrick Gibson said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."

This year Ch'ae has fanned 69 in 90.1 innings and collected a 3-6 record with a 3.79 ERA.
