Tigers Advance to Low A Championship Series: The fans in Connecticut are celebrating the Tigers victory over the Batavia Muckdogs in the League Championship Series.

They defeated the Batavia Muckdogs 6-5 in the finale played at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium to capture the series 4-1.

London Van Sumeren was chosen the series' Most Valuable Player. The Tigers third baseman batted .444, drove in 6 runs and scored 4 runs in the series.

"The Muckdogs are a good club and I don't mean any disrespect to their pitching staff, but things just felt easy this series," Van Sumeren said. "Everything at the plate seemed right."

The Connecticut Tigers will play against the Gold Beach Sea Unicorns in the next round. Gold Beach won their series against the Everett AquaSox 4 games to 0. The Low A Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
