The End Is Here: Miguel Angel Martínez Retires: The Charleston Battery will have to find a new starting pitcher next year as veteran Miguel Angel Martínez is set to retire at the end of the 2047 campaign.

Martínez, age 36, is ready for retirement. "Time takes its toll on this old body. I can't do it as well as I want anymore. It's time to hang up the spikes and make way for a younger guy."

The 36-year-old Martínez has a career record of 9-10 and has fanned 117 batters in 167.1 innings with a 3.60 ERA.
