TEX's Best Player Selected, It's Smith: Adam Smith took Texas League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 22.

For his spectacular campaign, the Arkansas Travelers star has been named the 2022 Texas League Hitter of the Year Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the shortstop.

On the season he compiled a .278 batting average to go with a .361 on-base percentage. The native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania also added 27 doubles, 5 triples, 17 home runs, 83 RBIs and 77 runs scored.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Riley Greene of the Frisco RoughRiders finished second in voting, while Carlos Morín of the Arkansas Travelers finished third.
