Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl: After an intense confrontation, both the Pioneers Mike Bobbitt and the Mets Reggie Lawson were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent New Jersey-New York game. Mike Bobbitt will miss 3 games, while Reggie Lawson was suspended for 6 games.

"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Mike Bobbitt commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."

This season Bobbitt has hit at a .262 clip and produced 58 runs batted in, 17 home runs and 54 runs.

So far this year Lawson has 5 saves in 30 relief appearances with a 0-3 record and 3.41 ERA.
