Super Swinger -- Guzman Slams 5 Hits: D.J. Guzman did a number on the Threshers in the Daytona Beach 6-4 victory today, and the number was 5. The Hurricanes shortstop banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Pirate City Complex to lead his club past the Clearwater Threshers.
"I felt good in the batter's box today," he said later. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."
D.J. Guzman singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Cápulet Sandoval in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this season Guzman is hitting .322 with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 59 at-bats and has played in 15 games.
