Slaughter Pitches Way to Triple Crown: There's a new Triple Crown winner -- Coalition ace Wes Slaughter powered his way to the top of the Baseball Stars Association in wins, strikeouts and ERA. He was the league's best in all three major pitching categories. In his superb year, the 25-year-old hurler chalked up 23 wins, totaled 378 strikeouts and posted a 1.65 ERA. Slaughter finished the year 23-3. It looks like a Scott Hill Award might be in his future, too.

Speaking to the press about the award, "It's quite an honor to win the pitching Triple Crown. It's good to be rewarded for hard word. I just do whatever it takes to stay at the top of my game. I have a strong work ethic and pride myself on being the best. My teammates deserve a lot of credit, too. I didn't do this all by myself."

How good a year did Slaughter have? One opposing batter put it this way: "We're doing the best we can. But when you've got God on the mound throwing against you, it makes it a little tough."
