Setback for Colorado and Joel Day: Joel Day was taking it slow and easy nursing a herniated disc back to good health, when he suffered a setback. According to a Colorado team official, "Joel was making excellent progress and it appeared he would return to the squad ahead of schedule. But then he reinjured it in a light workout." Club doctors now say the 25-year-old Rockies starting pitcher will be out at least another one week.
