The Pirates reliever suffered bone chips in his elbow during a game against the Connecticut Huskies and will be out for at least 8 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.

To this point in the season, Rodríguez has rung up no saves in 15 relief appearances. He has also crafted a 6.42 ERA, 1 win and no losses and 24 strikeouts in 33.2 innings.
