Rowdy Players Suspended by League: If there wasn't a history between Félix Gonzáles of Barton Springs and Hidehira Shibutani of Billings, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 2 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Gonzáles said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This season Gonzáles has delivered 33 hits in 159 at-bats for a .208 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .299 clip and his totals also include 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored. This year Gonzáles has played in 46 games.
Checking out his stats for the year, Shibutani has racked up 3 wins and 4 losses in 13 starts, 4.57 ERA and struck out 70 batters in 69 innings.
