Rice Belts 3 HR Against Intercourse: The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Intercourse Amish today.

San Diego left fielder James Rice tripled up on the home runs to propel the Smashers to the 16-3 win at Tilley Field.

"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Intercourse manager Chris Miller said. "Rice hit the heck out of the ball."

In addition to the homers, Rice collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs.

"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."

James Rice hit a three-run home run off Adam Nelson in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Alberto Martínez in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Mike Reed in the 7th.

Rice is hitting .250 in 2045 with 16 RBIs and 7 home runs.
