Pompano Beach Stops Balleza's Hit Streak: The Aqua Sox stopped Fraco Balleza's 20-game hitting streak today at Space Coast Stadium, but they couldn't stop the Hialeah Gales, falling by the score of 10-2.
Balleza didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-3.
"It's just as well," Gales manager Greg Zietz said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him."
