Ortega Belts Bunch of Base Hits: It seemed that Indiana State right fielder Arturo Ortega could do no wrong as the Sycamores KO'd the Fighting Hawks, 18-3 today. Ortega rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Fighting Hawks hurlers were throwing.

"I think the Sycamores were stealing signs," growled one unhappy North Dakota fan after the game.

"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Ortega in the postgame press interview.

Arturo Ortega doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Wesley Thomas in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Ramón Pueblo in the 8th.

Thus far this year Ortega is hitting .356 with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs and 57 runs scored.
